Red Apple Yarn is a wool shop specialising wool from the UK. We are yarn users and buy what we like to work with.

Originally based in the Old Post Office, Lampeter in rural Wales and with family in farming, for us selecting yarn made from UK wool is natural. We like that close connection with locality, product and what we make and wear.

We have a small range of yarn from local farms made from wool and alpaca.

RedApple is a one woman yarnery, run by Jude Howard. Who is a font of knitting, crochet and yarn knowledge often found test sampling designing or working on a wooly project in the shop. She is always happy to help with colour or yarn choices, unpick knitting dilemas or redirect enquiries for postal services.

Our main ranges are: West Yorkshire Spinners AireValley DK and Signature 4ply; Stylecraft Special DK; Jamiesons and Smith Heritage 2ply; Newlanark Mill Aran;  UKAlpacca Fine; Bluefaced Leicester DK; some British yarns from Woolyknit, John Arbon, and local Dyer Triskelion Yarn.  We also do stock yarns made from other natural fibres and manmade products, for example Stylecraft’s Special DK as we think it is the best arcylic  available. We also sample other quality products around our main ranges.

We also stock knitting related tools like needles, crochet hooks, and a range of crafting items, including bag making supplies and handles and unusual  buttons.
